Designer of the day........

...... Rachel Roy, Yep i said it. Rachel Roy was first introduced into the retail market last year at macys and i was there for the introductory of  her collections. It was a great experience to see all the models and actually watched the audience reaction, it was jaw dropping. Rachel Roy is no stranger to the fashion world, she dresses lots of celebrities and now for people like me who can't afford the $3000.00 outfit will rock cheaper version.  It's been almost a year since RACHEL ROY made her debut and her clothing line is doing extremely well at Macys. The Rachel Roy line is flawless,  not that expansive so almost anyone can afford, and at macys you can use coupon when they are on sale. in addition of being inexpensive they are very chic, very lady like, they are so comfortable and  it's for the women who want to look sexy day and night. Everyone at work is soooooooooo obsessed with her clothing lines, we just can't get enough of it. For more information about the Rachel Roy clothing line Click here and here

Happy Memorial Day...

...To all who have served and continue to fight at the battle field to protect us here in the country. I really appreciate all the work and effort the men and women who are in uniform do for us and May GOD continue to protect them.... This long weekend we are so lucky to have a really warm weather in the northeast, i am not complaining at all. I don't have plan for barbecue but we are going to the park to enjoy the sun.

Zumba

Yeah i was like what it that? Everyone in the office have been talking about ZUMBA and i was curious to find out it's all about. I had no idea what ZUMBA was until i started watching the infomercial early one Sunday morning. I was blown away, I started doing the all the moves while i was getting the  hint to buy the DVD now for only 19.95.... Since everyone in the office have been bragging about how good they feel and how much fun they have i figure i should give it a try.  So I checked it out on Tuesday and i oh my.... i loved it, i loved it so much i am going back next Tuesday.  It's so much fun anyone can do it and i mean anyone. The class is a combination of dancing salsa while you are having fun and burning calories. Everyone is doing it why not you. if you're looking for something fun easy to do with no stress while burning fat then ZUMBA is for you. Check here for more info.

the Queen of Haiti

Last night there was a free concert at Lincoln Center in NYC and Haitian's iconic figure was to there to perform. I had such a wonderful time and when i listened to the old songs that i have not heard in such a long time it brought back memories from when i was little girl living in Haiti... I was reminiscing about all the things i used to when these songs came out...I hardly ever go to any Haitians festivities however, for that one i had to be there.  having said that, i had the best time ever. Emeline was introduced to some during the telethon that was done for Haiti back in January.  Emeline is such a role model to us all and i am glad to have met her. Her soulful voice and her traditional sexy dance really were the highlight of the performance... Here are some shots that i took last night from my phone... a little side note i took on a cell phone so the adjustment is not quiet there.

Emeline Michel

There she was outside talking to all her devoted fans... very grateful to have met her

Haiti Cherie,

On this day May 18,1803 was the day when the Haitian revolutionaries chose the red and the blue banner to represent what Haiti is all about and  for their chosen flag. Since then the flag represents  a symbol of unity, peace, pride and individual liberty for all Haitians. In Haiti the flag day is national celebration with lots of parades, festivities throughout the country. Even outside of Haiti, the Haitians pay a tribute to the flag by having parades, and everyone carries the flag for week.  It's a bitter sweet celebration for Haitians as they work together with world  to help rebuild the country after the devastating earthquake hit the country on January 12.

Bomb Scare in TIMES SQUARE....

I am sure you all heard the news about NYC circulating on every broadcast stations in the country. Believe it or not I was in TIME SQUARE Friday night  giving  my cousin a tour of the beautiful place in the city. It was so crowded with tourists, vendors and police officers i really felt safe that day. Not for one second did i think of someone in the crowd being suspicious. Living in NYC through 9/11 should make me more vigilant about what's going in the city, however on Friday night  i did not feel any concern or worries about being in downtown. it was a beautiful night and people were just having a good time... Since the weather was so beautiful i wanted to go back in TIMES SQUARE that Saturday, yep i was so close to call my cousin. I really never thought that TIMES SQUARE would be the target for any criminal activities. This place is a place where the world meets literally because you see so many different faces from all over. this place is well known for the bright lights, the huge billboards, the Broadway shows and all the festivities that go on there. I was really saddened,  and shocked when i heard the news on Twitter, I could not imagine NYC without TIMES SQUARE. I kept thinking who could we trust or we should we run from in NYC where everyone blends so perfectly.
From all the chaotic The material the police found in the Nissan Pathfinder-  are Gasoline, propane, firecrackers and simple alarm clocks. the  NYPD Commissionaire  R. Kelly said  the bomb " would have caused casualties, a significant fireball."
What's going on with our world? Why people are trying to hurt us, the civilians including  me that were in Time Square are innocent and we don't deserve this. I am praying to GOD they will find who's responsible. New Yorkers are very strong and this will not hold us down GOD will guide and defend us... Now it's the time " if you see something say something" please don't hesitate to do so when you're in the city or anywhere else for that matter.

Central Park..

So this morning I started doing the long walk that I do on the weekend in Central Park NY when I stumble upon the river and all these great activities you could do while in the park. This is such a cool idea and I can't wait to try it out. I am glad to know that I don't have to go far to enjoy a wonderful weekend...

Happy Earth Day!!!!!!!!!!

Please help protect the environment, every little bit helps.  Here's What i do to help protect mother Earth, whenever possible I use my reusable bags, I turn off the lights, the laptop, all electronics. I don't let the water run in the kitchen or in the bathroom. At work i use a mug instead of paper cups, I don't print unless it's necessary. I try to walk most of the time so that i don't take the bus or the train. Whatever you can do will help not only earth but yourself and family. Think positive save the planet....

On April 11 my blog turned 1 year old.

How excited that was!  Happy birthday to my blog!!!!!! Even though i am 2 weeks late i still think it's fair that i really talk about how i feel about my blog. This blog was originally created for the planning of my wedding however, we have not made any plan yet so i figure i should just make it about my everyday life instead. Over the past year I have met so many cool, talented readers and I really appreciate their stories; I learned so much from all them and  reading their stories make feel that i am not alone. with this blog i have a different perspective on life, parenting, fashion, wedding and everything else that comes along. I am very thankful for all the individuals who have been reading and those who have subscribed to my blog. When i started this blog i spent months without any followers and now i have 10 awesome people following me. I really hope that things will get better with my blog and I really appreciate everyone who stops by.

Hiatus from my blog....

Yeah, after coming from Atlanta things have been somewhat crazy at home and at work. I have yet to upload the photos from the Atlanta trip or the Alicia Keys concert. So here's how the story goes, first day of work from vacation I found out that I will be moving into a different floor immediately, where i barely know anyone. the whole moving thing took all my time and i have lots of work to do with the logs and placing all the traffic instructions. I had so much stuff to catch on and the drama that goes on this small department is unbelievable.  When i got home i was either too tired or just did not have the energy to go browse the web or even checking out my blog.
As for home, My brother is hospitalized and my cute little nephew Jonathan( 2yrs old) was also hospitalized with breathing problem. I have been battling an allergy that left me with swollen eyes and runny nose. This year the allergy has really taken its toll me on. I spent several hours sneezing with my eyes irritating and being in a public place its just not cool when everyone stares at you like you're from Mars.
The other day i went to see my GNY and i was told that I need to have another surgery to take out the other CYST that i have on my right side. 2 years ago i had one removed on the same spot with part of my Fallopian tube. and of course what i heard from the doctor was it's going to take you a while to have children, and it's really draining me to know that i may have to go to the fertility clinic to get help...Anyway.....I am staying positive that things will be better for Mike and I...

I am happy to be back and working on my blog, i am working on getting the comments box fix.
