I am back!

Happy Sunday everyone!!!!! I hope everyone is cooling off in this torturous heat. I am so glad that I am not pregnant anymore in this heat. Baby Ayden is surprisingly doing well in the heat, we have the AC on a 3 days straight now (I can't even imagine how much the electricity bill for next month will be). I know it's been a while since my last post, but now that Ayden is born my free time for now has been very limited.

Ayden is now 12 days old and I am so excited to welcome him in our house. Ayden spent 9 days in NICU because of his low platelets  besides that he is completely healthy. It was a heart breaking when i was being discharged I had to leave my behind,  however, by the grace of the Lord and strong prayer I was able to manage. The first 9 days of being a mom was spent in the hospital, going back and forth everyday, spending all my days by his bed side and having faith that he will be out soon. That's the challenge Michael and I had to face and we both managed to see him everyday until it was time for our son to be discharged. I am not a big fan of NICU but when your child is admitted you have no choice but to be strong and pray.

How's Ayden now? Our little boy is doing great, he goes for checks up with the hematology at least 2 a week to check on his platelets. As the platelets get higher Ayden will see the doctor once a month, that's what we are hoping because I am not fan of watching him crying nonstop when the nurse is drawing blood from him. He has an appointment with his pediatrician on Wednesday so hopefully he will start with the shots. He sleeps and eats well,  also he likes the breast milk and Enfantmil. I am not complaining at all and i do hope it stays that way. He is already learning how to start turning, Ayden is very alert specially when it's feeding time.  Ayden has lots of visitors coming to the house and to be honest I feel that these people should give the parents some time with him since he is not even a month yet. Mommy and daddy are home to take care of him plus my family's help has becoming a great relief. I am even more excited because I don't have to go back to work until September..,YES,YES!

I have so much to talk about until then, here are some pictures of Ayden.
Enjoy!

Ayden is getting ready to come home, apparently he is not too fond of the car seat.

37 Weeks and 2 more weeks to GO!

I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July. I am very fortunate and lucky to have Tuesday off. I really did not much this year because of the pregnancy, I watched the fireworks at home with my Hubby and spent sometimes with my mom.

I am so so blessed to reach week 37, I am full term.  Thank you Lord for each week that I left behind. As most of you know I have been going to see my doctor every week now until the due date. Last friday I saw the doctor and I had another ultrasound, everything went well with the baby, he is just ready to come out when he wants to. The doctor was very happy with the way my body is taking on the pregnancy after being hospitalized 3 and half weeks ago. I was so excited when the doctor walked in the room because I really thought she was going to tell me that I will be induced in the next week or so, instead she said that I am going all the way  close to my due date. So now i just have to wait and see what's going to happen. She did check my cervix and she said it starts to slowly opening, YES YES YES I am closer than ever to welcome my son into this world.

What's happening now:

I have been feeling period like cramps however, they are not consistent for me go to the hospital. My back hurts more and more each day, even my butt hurts. I still have discomfort when sleeping at night, it's a battle every night before I actually fall asleep besides the hot crazy weather is not helping either. It's so difficult to get out of bed, the frequent run to the bathroom has gotten worse now that the baby has dropped completely.
So far I don't have a birth plan we are taking everything day by day.I packed the baby I just have to do my bag now.

In week 36 I took a test called Group B Streptococcus. This test is when you are checked for vaginal infection, although the infection is not harmful to us mother but it is very harmful during the birthing process and will cause birth defect to the baby . That test came in out negative and my blood counts, platelets are high now.

The baby is doing great, he is still kicking and oh boy those kicks freaks me out. He responds to my voice a lot more now. He is the best gift ever.

This Friday is my next appointment and from there I will get a doctor referral for the little man.

Enjoy the rest of the week!

Happy Independence Day!

Last year at this time I was so excited because I was going to see the Macys Fireworks Spectacular in NYC. This year I am home waiting on the arrival of my baby boy, I really thought I was going to watch the fireworks but because of the crowds and besides there are no seating area so it's best that I stay away....I am so thankful and blessed to know that my child will be raised in AMERICA the land of FREEDOM.

I hope everyone has a great and safe Independence day!
